How to inspire American consumers to support foreign communities in need

The Bali Street Mums Project is a wonderful grassroots organization in Indonesia that removes homeless mothers from a world of street begging and human trafficking by providing them with a safe living environment.  Mothers receive the stability they need to send their children to school and break the cycle of poverty.

At the Bali Street Mums refuge, mothers learn artisan skills and are taught how to earn a steady income by producing handicrafts like drinking glasses made from recycled beer bottles.
​
Unfortunately, the Bali Street Mums Project is underfunded and struggles to generate sustained charitable donations from abroad.

Help fund the Bali Street Mums Project by importing and selling their drinking glasses in the U.S.

​Black Brew Bridge opened the US Market to the Bali Street Mums by: 
​
  1. Establishing a strong tie between the artisans in Bali and the consumers in the U.S using emotionally-driven storytelling.
     
  2. ​Presenting the glasses to “fair trade” retailers at the Las Vegas Market trade show.
     
  3. Securing outdoor advertising support from the Indonesian Trade Promotion Center.
     
  4. Building an eCommerce website and marketing the glasses with social media and targeted Google Ads.
Black Brew Bridge’s storytelling established an emotional connection between consumers and the artisans, driving desirability and demand for the glasses.

During the 2020 holiday season, Black Brew Bridge sold through all domestic inventory, primarily from direct-to-consumer / eCommerce channels.
​
Higher margins from eCommerce provided incremental funding for the Bali Street Mums Project.
​
Glass owners love that their purchase helps someone in need.  Their high satisfaction level drives repeat purchases, referrals and direct donations to the Bali Street Mums Project.
